Kelly Wilson
Director of Medicaid and Health Services
A native Floridian, Kelly has spent four decades in the health, medical and the aging care industry. Beginning her career in high school, she worked as a certified nursing assistant, then spent years working in specialty care practices as a registered medical assistant.
Following her move to Palm Beach County in 1998, she conducted health screenings for both life and long-term insurance companies while enrolled in community college. During this time, she discovered assisted living and was immediately drawn to this model of care.
In June 2000, she completed the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) Core Training program and became an Administrator.
In the past 24 years, her senior living career has continued to grow, filled with continued education and professional growth, gaining collective experience as an
Owner and Administrator of an assisted living community,
Director of Sales & Marketing in a large senior living community,
Care manager and benefit coordinator, and recently a
Guardianship care manager.
During her entire profession, Kelly has been deeply involved with the Medicaid program dating back to the pilot Nursing Home Diversion Program in the early 2000’s, long before the inception of today’s Statewide Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care (SMMC LTC) program.
Kelly is currently an advisory board member of the Area Agency on Aging of Palm Beach/Treasure Coast; a board member of the DOEA Advisory Board Region 9, a member and Chair of the Consumer Care and Planning Committee for the past 10 years; and was chair of the Aging and Disability Resource Center. In 2019, she participated in the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) subcommittee.
Kelly has engaged for years with statewide outreach, education, and advocacy, connecting and collaborating with various trade associations, non-profits, and other organizations with shared or closely aligned priorities. Kelly is a frequent presenter and has extensive experience speaking with groups about Florida's Medicaid program.
