How many times have you heard of legislation that had the potential to negatively affect your assisted living facility – to cut into your ability to hire quality staff or to provide engaging and meaningful resident services? Were you able to do anything about it? On an individual scale – probably not. Likewise, how many times have you heard of legislation that had the potential to help your community – to help reduce staff injuries, to provide residents with a better quality of life, to make your community in Florida more compelling than communities in other states? You would like to support those efforts, right? However, in both cases you have a business to run, supplies to order, staff to schedule, rooms to fill, families to meet with, etc. In short, you don’t have time for that. But, even though you probably don’t think about it, advocacy is an important part of our business and a priority for keeping your doors open.
Fortunately, at FSLA, we are the ONLY ones who advocate on your behalf, support and protect your profession, and continuously work to achieve positive changes in your industry - and stop negative changes! One of the ways FSLA does this is via campaign and political contributions.
The Florida Senior Living PC is an essential bipartisan tool to educate legislators and other key leaders in Florida about the benefits and issues facing Florida’s senior living industry and to build and strengthen relationships with candidates and elected officials who help advance FSLA’s advocacy agenda.

Florida’s senior living industry is faced with ever-increasing issues and will continue to be in the coming years.
