Assisted Living Association in Florida Welcomes Alanna Russ as New Director of Education

The Florida Senior Living Association (FSLA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Alanna Russ as our new Director of Education. Quality assisted living education and continuous professional growth are at the heart of delivering high care standards across Florida’s senior living communities. With Alanna taking the lead in our educational programming, FSLA is well positioned to expand and enhance comprehensive ALF training opportunities available to our members, helping senior care professionals across the state thrive.


Alanna brings more than 29 years of diverse educational experience to FSLA. Her impressive career spans classroom instruction, curriculum design, educational technology integration, professional development, and school counseling. Throughout her career, Alanna has been dedicated to empowering learners and professionals alike. She has extensive experience designing and delivering impactful training programs, supporting staff through tech driven solutions, and crafting innovative curricula that elevate standards for assisted living education and staff development.


Alanna’s academic foundation reflects her lifelong commitment to educational excellence. She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of West Florida, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.


In her new role as Director of Education, Alanna will oversee the development, strategy, and execution of FSLA’s assisted living education programs, professional certification pathways, and compliance focused ALF training initiatives. Her deep expertise in curriculum design and technology integration will play a key role as FSLA works to deliver accessible, modern, and high impact ALF training for assisted living staff, administrators, and care providers across Florida.


Alanna shared her enthusiasm for the new role, noting that she looks forward to bringing her passion for learning and professional development to Florida’s vibrant senior living community. Her goal is to create engaging, relevant assisted living education opportunities that truly empower FSLA members and support operational and care excellence throughout the industry.


Under Alanna's leadership, FSLA members can look forward to expanded ALF training programs tailored to the unique challenges within senior living, greater integration of educational technology for flexible assisted living education, and collaborative programming designed directly in response to member feedback.
